But, feeling low on energy and short on time, what to do? Power Plate was amazing! It's gentle, but effective. And its really exercise, although it doesn't feel like it. Not only did the half-hour sessions with Michelle instantly lift my spirits, I felt a significant positive change in energy levels and all-over muscle strength after just 4 weeks. Despite starting off slowly (I was only 8 weeks post-partum), I lost 3cm around my hips after just 6 weeks - without once working up a sweat! Dare I say it...Power Plate almost makes exercise fun. Kim Nicholson After 9 months of inactivity due to injury, I wanted to quickly get back into my exercise regime. I originally heard about the use of Power Plate for the reduction of cellulite. On further investigation, I found that athletes use it for training support and injury rehabilitation and thought it may assist in fast-tracking my fitness back to a level I was used to. I had been having weekly physio sessions to treat my Achilles and sciatica injuries, and had been given the all clear to commence exercising again. I also decided to set myself a goal - I had less than 4 months to regain my fitness, and embark on walking my first marathon. When looking for a location to start the Power Plate program, I found Michelle at Perfect Balance in Seaforth. Michelle worked with me and my injuries to develop a program that would support my rehabilitation and allow me to quickly gain the strength and fitness I needed to complete the marathon. It was great that this could be achieved without lifting heavy weights nor having to deal with the soreness associated with heavy exercise. I found the Power Plate routine (30 mins twice a week) gave me more energy, helped me sleep, and complemented my walking program well. Within 6 weeks of starting my program, I had also noticed I had gained strength, tone, and cardiovascular fitness. My achilles and sciatica had also improved and I no longer needed physio. I had even gained noticable strength in my upper body (previously nil). Thanks to Michelle and the team Kim Heasman In February 2007, I was diagnosed with arthritis of the hip and three spurs on the head of the femur, this was devastating news after years of horse riding, running and tennis. I received a flyer for the Power Plate saying it could benefit those with arthritis so I decided to try it and although I cant run on roads anymore, with Michelle's help the Power Plate has kept me playing tennis and in 2008 I climbed the Inca Trail. Power Plate has helped with my core stability and strengthening muscles to help support my lower back, keeping me active and sane. I would recommend anyoine with arthritis to give the Power Plate a go - just so you can keep on moving!
